A MAZE Playground

The A MAZE Playground is a digital playground. The contents are adapted to the respective exhibition concept before release for the game. The emphasis is on computer games that are not mainstream and often overlooked by consumers. The set-up is simple, but efficient: PC, software, projector and camera. The rest is taken care of by the players themselves. During “atoms&bits”, we’ll be showing open source community and individually crafted projects by Yo Frankie!, Cryon Physics Deluxe, World of Goo and others.

Der A MAZE. Playground ist ein digitaler Spielplatz. Dem jeweiligen Ausstellungskonzept angepasste Inhalte werden zum Spiel freigegeben. Im Vordergrund stehen Computerspiele, die nicht zum Mainstream gehören und oftmals von Konsumenten übersehen werden. Der Aufbau ist schlicht aber effizient. PC, Software, Projektor und Kamera. Den Rest erledigen die Spieler selbst. Für "atoms&bits" werden Open Source Gemeinschaftsprojekte und individuelle Handarbeit ausgestellt. U.a. mit Yo Frankie!, Cryon Physics Deluxe und World of Goo.

Combining the joy of experimenting and gaming A MAZE. celebrates the convergence of computer games and art. Giving artists, designers, researchers and whizzes a platform not only to communicate, express ideas, learn from one another and to experiment together playfully, but also to reveal the creative potential behind this ambivalent medium in general.
Therefore A MAZE. connects a diversity of individually designed modules, which are continuously tested and improved in many experimental events.
